2017 Committee Chair Applications

Dear ACC-OC Elected Officials,

Since the Association of California Cities—Orange County (ACC-OC) was founded in 2011, the organization has responded to and anticipated policy trends and issues through a robust policy committee structure. These committees provide a unique opportunity for sitting city council members to apply their expertise to county and state-wide policy development. It is a great chance to lead!

We are excited to announce that the ACC-OC Board of Directors is now soliciting application for all ACC-OC Policy Committees for the 2017 term. The Board of Directors is looking to appoint applicants that have an expertise, passion, and commitment to mission of ACC-OC, and the work of each individual policy committee.

We are accepting applications for the following committees:

  • Sober Living Home Task Force

As a Committee Chair you will be expected to help carry out the policy initiatives of the committee, work collaboratively with staff to identify emerging policy issues and solutions, and act as a liaison between the ACC-OC Board of Directors and your specific policy committee.

Attached to this letter is an application packet that includes the ACC-OC Committee Chair Policy and the meeting dates for each policy committee. Applicants are welcome to apply to chair more than one committee, but must fill out individual applications for each committee. More information on each committee, their initiatives, and past work can be found at www.accoc.org/policy-committees

Our mission at the ACC-OC is to provide Orange County’s 34 cities a powerful, regional voice on the public policy issues of today and tomorrow. We achieve this mission through:

  • Education that empowers
  • Policy that is collaborative
  • Advocacy that is service-oriented

Policy committees are an important part to achieving this mission, and we encourage all city councilmembers with an expertise and interest in our current policy focus areas to submit an application to have a regional and statewide impact.
