On December 20th, ACC-OC Executive Director Kris Murray testified at the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) Hybrid Stationary Source Committee Meeting, voicing opposition to proposed regulations that could disproportionately affect residents and small businesses. ACC-OC, alongside the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG), affordable housing advocates, and non-profit organizations serving low-income families, urged AQMD to reconsider proposed amendments to Rules 1111 and 1121. These amendments would require zero NOx emissions for residential and commercial space heating as well as residential water heating appliances. Additionally, ACC-OC seeks to work with AQMD to expand public outreach on these proposed amendments and to advocate for local control over mobile sources of NOx emissions.
