Advocacy Programs

ACC-OC provides annual advocacy programs to Sacramento and Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of Orange County at the state and federal levels on interests and issues most pressing to the region. Elected officials and city staff along with Orange County public agencies, nonprofits, universities, and the business community comprise robust delegations to represent the nation’s 6th largest region –Orange County.

Public Policy Makers Academy (PPMA)

ACC-OC offers the Public Policy Makers Academy (PPMA) for continuing education for both newly elected and seasoned Orange County Council Members. Held in half-day sessions over 4 weeks, PPMA takes a deep dive into the art of being an effective policy maker and tackles complex public policy subjects such as local government finance, councilship skills, general plan & land use, public records, and labor relations. Attendees will learn from top regional experts in each field and establish a network of council colleagues from across the county.

Leadership Conference

ACC-OC’s Annual Leadership Conference is our signature event where leaders from across Orange County gather to learn and collaborate on top issues facing the region. As a one-day conference, the day features keynote speakers, panelists, and roundtables. There is something for everyone at the ACC-OC Annual Fall Leadership Conference with educational and practical leadership sessions across a variety of formats with opportunities for networking and collaboration. Attendees will walk away better equipped as a leader with the latest knowledge, tools, and resources the region has to offer.
