City of Irvine
The City of Irvine has received three solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) chargers through a $333,830 grant from the Federal Department of Energy. These off-grid chargers, which can generate and store solar power, will support Irvine’s growing electric fleet, ensuring continued operation during power outages. The chargers are located at the City’s Operations Support Facility and are a significant step in expanding infrastructure for electric vehicles, enhancing the City's resilience in emergency situations. The fleet will also include an electric Ford F-150 Lightning vehicle.

Orange County Water District
Â
The Orange County Water District (OCWD) has achieved notable milestones, including replenishing a record 90 billion gallons of water and capturing 20 billion gallons of stormwater from the Santa Ana River. Additionally, the district maintained a record 85% groundwater pumping rate. A new video highlights these efforts, showcasing how OCWD’s dedicated staff and board work tirelessly to ensure water quality and reliability for 2.5 million residents.
City of Placentia
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program in Placentia offers free training to help residents prepare for and respond to disasters. Participants learn about disaster preparedness, fire suppression, search and rescue, medical operations, and disaster psychology. The program includes a series of five classes and culminates in a disaster simulation and graduation. This training is open to those aged 14 and older.
